NDIS Personal Trainer for Exercise

NDIS Personal Trainer for Exercise Physiology in North & West Melbourne

What is the NDIS?

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) provides funding for assistance and services to Australians under the age of 65 who have a permanent and significant disability. The goal of this scheme is to help people with disabilities develop skills and capabilities so they can participate within the community and in the workplace. NDIS also allows grants for movement and physical activity services by accredited exercise physiologists (AEP) and personal trainers (PT).

What is NDIS Exercise physiology?

As a registered NDIS provider, Accessibility Care’s Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) provide exercise-based services for individuals with permanent disabilities. This makes a huge impact in improving health and wellness for NDIS participants.

How do Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) help NDIS Participants?

Under NDIS, certified exercise physiologists offer services to improve the health of people with disabilities within the capacity-building budget. AEPs assess and design safe and effective training interventions for NDIS participants which increases their ability to perform daily tasks and activities with greater ease.

What Type of NDIS Participants Do Our Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) help?

AEPs are qualified allied health professions with the knowledge and skills to plan and evaluate effective exercise interventions for NDIS participants. For example, EPAs can help people with progressive neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, and motor neuron disease. They also help people with acquired or traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, autism, chronic fatigue syndrome, and Down syndrome etc.

Changes to NDIS in 2019 that benefits the disabled

Due to the recent changes announced by the Australian Government, there has been an increase in funding limits for National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) services. Under the Improved Daily Living Skills Category, Exercise Physiology will now be included. This is in addition to the Improved Health and Wellbeing Category, within the 2019 NDIS Support Catalogue.

What do these changes in NDIS mean for participants?

These changes now allow registered NDIS providers such as Accessibility Care to provide Exercise Physiology services to treat more NDIS participants. This will improve the health and quality of life of more individuals with disability in our Melbourne, West Melbourne, North Melbourne, Sunshine, Deer Park, and Caroline Springs centres.
